SSC, the Central Staffing Agency for Group B & C staff selection:

The SSC is the largest recruiting agency in the country that conducts its examinations in a routine manner through regional directorates situated at various parts of the country. The commission (SSC) has its head office in New Delhi and there are nine regional offices designated to conduct administration of the Commission’s operations.
Since inception the Commission has successfully selected tens of thousands of candidates to various central Ministries, Directorates and offices.
Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC): Every Indian state has its own PSC which is an Authority under Article 315 of the Constitution for carrying out the staff selection and to advice the respective government on staff matters. The UPPSC is the one conducts highest volume of recruitments considering the number of recruitments conducted every year. Like Union Public Service Commission at the centre, UPPSC has certain constitutional advisory powers vested in it by the Constitution of India. The UPPSC conducts administration of recruitments using internet and by following one of the unequivocal practices in a state where there are several controversies around the rest of its bureaucracy.
Delhi Subordinate Service Selection Board (DSSSB)
Unlike state governments which are helped by the Public Service Commission of the respective state, Delhi administration gets the senior posts filled by Union Public Service Commission, but the subordinate positions in its departments and Directorates are filled by DSSSB recruitment operation. DSSSB recruitments are conducted by following fair practice providing equal opportunities to all eligible residents. Vacancy advertisements and competitive examinations are conducted under strict surveillance to avoid touts and unwanted elements.
Despite the variety in the constitution of each government recruiting agencies, the system of conduct of selection is more or less uniform for UPSC, ssc je 2018 notification and various state PSCs. The system comprise of detailed, lengthy and mandatory steps like requisition for creation of post, job description, approval of post, reporting to selection agency, compilation of similar posts, advertisement, receipt of online application, procedure for fee collection, scrutiny of application, preparation of examination material, administration of centres of examination, conduct of examination, evaluation, short listing and communicating. In most cases the Commission’s responsibility fulfils with publication of rank list after conduct of interview, as the case may be. The final recruitment and induction of the candidates is done by the respective departments.
